
For our overseas travelers, we’ve added the ability to edit your Currency preference on the Account Overview Screen. Where’s is this used? On your Deals! The symbols will be displayed on your Deals overview page as well as the deals details pages. At this time, the Currency preference is an Account setting vs. a User Setting. After research we found this to be the simplest implementation, so we didn’t have to worry about mixing totals, i.e. your office in Chicago adds a $10,000 deal and your London office adds a €10,000 deal, we’d then have to worry about exchange rates to give you a total in the currency of your User-preferred currency.
We’ve seen other CRMs that gave a split total of all your Deals, when allowing for deal-specific currencies, i.e. $10,000 and €$10,000. But not showing an overall total, we thought, was lame. So that’s why we opted for setting the Currency on an Account basis.
For our US customers, this is probably TMI, but we wanted to let our international users know that we take their requests seriously and do factor them into our decisions!
